Maria was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, which is a congenital or acquired malformation of the acetabulum. When she learns to walk, her parents notice that she has coordination difficulties. She has an internal rotation of the legs, a deformity, which is a deformity of the foot with a lowered inner edge and a raised outer edge of the foot.
The surgery is not performed until 8 months later. Afterwards she continues to suffer from knee problems, her gait and coordination steadily deteriorate. In the same year, with the knowledge she acquires, she is able to better understand her own gait.
I’m a person who likes to challenge myself and being out of my comfort zone triggers me. Of course, an amputation is a life changing situation in many ways, but I’m lucky enough to have a good prosthetic leg and foot. It doesn’t mean I will have extra years ahead of me, but will enable me to live life to its fullest.

Having a well fitting prosthesis is important to me, and also being treated like a hero. Having that prosthetic partner ensures that he is getting the best prosthesis for me personally, and not being provided a generic prosthetic device. They are not trying to sell you the best prosthetic this or that, they are not like this is the best for you. They care about you as a person and what is best for you!!
